SIC Golden Globes 2026: 30 years, a new generation of ETC Hog

This is not the first time that 3Lumen The Lighting Designer takes control of the lighting for the live broadcasts of the SIC Golden Globes. Year after year the bar is raised, and this year the new ETC HOG platform was the hardware and software under the control of the lighting team. Ricardo MaiShe opens up the book a little about this experience.

“"The SIC Golden Globes celebrated 30 years and the lighting for the ceremony, held at the Coliseu dos Recreios and broadcast live on SIC, was, for the first time, entirely handled by the new consoles." ETC Hog. Up until now, the event featured the Hog 4, and this edition marked the transition to the new generation.

In a live broadcast for national television, there are no second chances, and the console is the center of the entire system. The ETC Hog consoles rose to the occasion: stable operation and programming from rehearsal to broadcast, immediate response in every execution, and complete confidence from the team throughout the ceremony. For those who program and operate, this predictability is what matters most.

The change happened naturally. The work philosophy we already knew was maintained, which allowed us to take advantage of accumulated experience, and the new generation brought more capacity and room for maneuver to a show with the size and complexity of the Golden Globes. The result was more flexibility in programming and greater operational security.

THE 3Lumen, The lighting team, composed of Marco Silva, Miguel Valerio, and Ricardo Maia, was responsible for the event's lighting in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and again since 2021. Always with Hog, a brand with which we have a very strong relationship. Users of the platform since 1996, since Hog II, we have followed its evolution over almost three decades. Today we see a Hog with a development project outlined and secured by ETC. The hardware maintains the reliability and durability we already knew, and the software, in full development, is ready for new challenges. In a live broadcast, that's what gives us peace of mind.

The supply of the Hogs was the responsibility of FX Roadlights, a long-time supplier of HOG products in the national market and also a user of the platform, has once again demonstrated the professionalism we know it for.

The system combined the ETC Hog with projectors. GLP and Chauvet Professional.

We thank you. Garrett Audiovisuais and to FX Roadlights "The usual support."”
