Description
The EQLimit Controller Limiter represents a further step in noise control. It continues to maintain the sound quality that has characterized our teams, with a very powerful control software that allows more possibilities of control of a musical activity.
It has two measurement channels through two different microphones, applying “C” or “A” or “BASS” weights
The control signal is compared with preset levels set by time and date. In the case of limiting, no matter how much the input signal is increased, the level in the room will not exceed the limit. The limiter's action is indicated by a series of LEDs indicating its activity. The equipment will continue to limit even if the signal is increased by more than 60 dB. When the input signal level exceeds a level close to the maximum, the computer indicates by an LED signaling AUDIO, clipping the peaks of the input signal to warn of possible signal distortion.
We can choose the audio level control mode from the microphone signal or the audio output and, in both cases, globally or by frequencies.
The limiter circuit remains one of the main advantages of this equipment since its design imposes a maximum, but without drastic cuts in the music level, achieving high listening quality even with high attenuation levels. This avoids the tendency of many users to manipulate it when the effects of the limiter alter the quality of the music. In addition, it remembers the last attenuation level when the audio signal, so that the resumption of the sound, does not have an abrupt input as in other similar devices that produce a high peak level until it becomes adaptable the level is stopped attenuation before cutting.
It has a global and fixed attenuation adjustment for both channels; this way, it can bring the highest level of the amplifier chain to the actual working level required, thus avoiding having to reduce the difference that only with active limiting. This guarantees a maximum sound level, even though, for some reason, the equipment usually does not limit.
All these settings are only possible via the SCL control software, which requires a license granted to authorized installers or control authorities, and a password on the device that prevents any unauthorized manipulation. For greater security against manipulation, the rear and microphone connections have a sealed protective cap.
The network input connectors and cables comply with Safety Standards and are of the standardized IEC type with approvals from different international organizations and incorporate an earthing connection. The equipment has a protection fuse with external access. All this to comply with low voltage guidelines. Likewise, the design and materials make the equipment compatible with the European Directive on Electromagnetic Compatibility.
As an ideal complement to its installation and adjustment, the equipment has an internal pink noise generator for initial automatic calibration. This allows us to make adjustments and measurements in a more comfortable and reliable way.
